Live Stock Market Updates: Nifty hovers around 9545; Bank Nifty holds Thursday’s rally

After a huge rally by around 650 points in the Thursday’s trade, the Bank Nifty index held its gains on Friday. The index is trading higher by 43 points at 23234 levels as of 1051 hours on Friday.

Yes Bank is the top index gainer trading higher by 1.9% at Rs 1492.3 per share. Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and HDFC Bank are trading near their 52-week highs.

Nifty PSU Bank index is trading in negative territory down by 0.73% at 3532 levels. The PSU Bank stocks like Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Orient Bank and State Bank of India are trading in negative territory in the morning hours.

There are 1250 advances, 312 declines and 383 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive undertone in the market.

At 11 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30887 up 137 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9548 up 38 points. A total of 31 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 30 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 1.27% at 14408, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.38% at 15053.

Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Realty, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while Oil and Gas are showing weakness on BSE.

Hindalco, Tata Steel, Vedanta Limited, Bharti Airtel and Asian Paints are among the gainers, whereas IOC, BPCL, CIPLA, Sun Pharma and Bosch are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.

The INDIA VIX is up 4% at 10.8.
