The BSE Power index is one of the top losing indices post lunch hours on Monday, with Power Grid majorly contributing to the index losses and dragging it to lower levels. It is down 2.6% at Rs 200 per share.
Other stocks in the index such as Tata Power is down by 2.7% at Rs 82 per share, Torrent Power is down 2.6% at Rs 199 per share, PTC India is down 2.7% at Rs 96 per share, CG Power is down 1.5% at Rs 90 per share and Adani Power is also down by 1.2% at Rs 32 per share.
JSW Energy, Thermax, Suzlon Energy and CESC are trading in the green territory.
At 2 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30,607 up 142 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9454 up 27 points. A total of 36 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 39 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.69% at 14,543, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.42% at 15,162.
Some buying activity is seen in FMCG, Telecom and Consumer Durables indices, while Healthcare, Power and Utilities indices are showing weakness on BSE.
ITC, L&T, Adani Ports and TCS are among the gainers, whereas SBI, Lupin, ACC and Ambuja Cements are losing on the NSE.
