Markets end flat amid volatile trade, Nifty settles above 9600

Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9647 levels, lower by 9 points or 0.1%, whereas the BSE Sensex closed at 31103 levels, higher by 7 points or 0.03%.

While, BSE Mid-cap Index closed up by 0.01% at 14798 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up by 0.4% at 15517. 

There were 812 advances, 841 declines and 299 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting a bearish undertone floating in the market.

Power Grid was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Vedanta was the top Nifty loser. 

SpiceJet witnessed upward rally on the bourses and touched its intraday high of Rs 122.25 per share higher by 2.6%. The stock closed at Rs 119.95 per share higher by 0.6%.

Jeevan Scientific Technology was locked at 5% upper circuit at Rs 39.80 after the successful completion of the first audit by the US health regulator. The stock also witnessed a spurt in the volume by more than 2.51 times. The stock closed at Rs 39.80 higher by 4.8%.

MEP Infrastructure Developers gained as much as 4% after there was buzz in the market regarding tie ups with overseas companies. Stock closed at Rs 93.45 higher by 5.7%.

Vascon Engineers was down 5.6% at Rs 42.90 per share extending its Monday’s losses. The stock closed at Rs 40.85 down by 10.12%.

Satin Creditcare Network shot up more than 11% as the company seeks shareholder approval to issue securities worth Rs 300 crore at the annual general meeting to take place on July 6 2017, reported a leading news agency. The stock close at Rs 290.90 higher by 14.9%.

Sun Pharma was up by over 2% as its subsidiary gets nod for generic Zetia tablets. The stock closed at Rs 536 higher by 0.5%.
