Live Stock Market Updates: Nifty struggles below 9650; Bank Nifty trades weak

Bank Nifty continued its Tuesday’s loss in Wednesday’s trading session. The index was trading lower by 55 points at 23642 level. IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank are the top losers in the index trading lower by over 1% in the afternoon hours.

Private Bank stocks are mainly contributing to the Bank Nifty losses. PSU Bank stocks are trading in positive territory.

There are 820 advances, 772 declines and 355 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.

At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31235 down 61 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9622 down 31 points. A total of 45 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 40 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.2% at 14874, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.3% at 15726.

Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, FMCG and Telecom while Oil & Gas, Energy, Finance are showing weakness on BSE.

Bank of Baroda, LT, Hindustan Unilever, Zee Entertainment, Asian Paints are among the gainers, whereas Lupin, ONGC, Eicher Motors, BPCL and Power Grid are losing sheen on NSE.

The INDIA VIX is up 1.6% at 10.8.
