ICICI Bank turns ex-bonus, ex-dividend today; shares flat

Shares of ICICI BankBSE 0.74 % were trading flat with positive bias in morning trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), after the stock turned ex-bonus today in the ratio of 1:10. 

The scrip was trading 0.60 per cent up at Rs 293.20 around 11.25 am (IST). Shares of the company opened at Rs 292.80 and touched a high and low of Rs 295.40 and Rs 289.15, respectively, in trade so far. Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 31 points, or 0.10 per cent, at 31,351. 

The board of directors of the private sector lender at its meeting held on May 3, 2017, had recommended the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:10 i.e. one equity share for every ten equity share held. Bonus shares are those shares which are offered to existing shareholders of a company with any cost.

ICICI Bank had also recommended a dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share for the financial year ended March 31, 2017. 

The bank has fixed June 21 as record date for issue of bonus shares. 

For the quarter ended March 31, 2017, ICICI Bank reported net profit of Rs 2082.75 crore, up 412 per cent, against Rs 406.71 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
