Pharma stocks have been surging on Thursday. The stocks have been witnessing huge trading volume. Dr Reddy’s is the top gainer in the index. The stock is trading higher by around 4.3% at Rs 2650 per share. Sun Pharma is also trading higher by 3.35% at Rs 528.7 per share.

There are 828 advances, 764 declines and 357 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting fairly positive bias in the market.
At 12 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31224 down 46 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9651 down 11 points. A total of 67 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.2% at 14829, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading marginally up 0.2% at 15459.
Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Finance, Metal, Auto, while FMCG, IT, PSU Banks and Realty are showing weakness on NSE.
Dr Reddy’s, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, Hindalco and Tata Motors are among the gainers, whereas TCS, Bharti Infratel, Tata Power, Adani Ports and GAIL are losing sheen on NSE.
The INDIA VIX is up 1.51% at 11.05.
