Shares of VideoconBSE -4.99 % (down 4.99 per cent), Gujarat Mineral Development CorporationBSE -2.93 % (down 3 per cent), Emami (down 2.89 per cent), IL&FS Transportation Networks (down 2.57 per cent) and Gujarat Pipavav PortBSE -3.36 % (down 2.23 per cent) were the stocks that tanked more than 2 per cent on BSE in the afternoon trade on Wednesday.
However, shares of Amtek AutoBSE 9.96 % (up 9.96 per cent), JP Associates (up 5.66 per cent), Network18 (up 4.98 per cent), GMR Infra (up 4.50 per cent) and JSW EnergyBSE 3.04 % (up 3.35 per cent) gained during the trade reflecting the stock-specific temperament of the market.
BSE Sensex was 74.87 points down at 31,222.66, while Nifty50 was 37.75 points down at 9,615.75 around 1 pm (IST).
Out of 51 stocks on NSE, 14 were in green while 37 were trading in red around the same time.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro, JP Associates, Amtek Auto, GMR Infra, Indiabulls Real Estate, Reliance CommunicationsBSE 3.67 %, Tata MotorsBSE -2.00 %, Suzlon EnergyBSE 1.35 %, UnitechBSE -0.59 % and HDILBSE 0.34 % were among most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in trade so far.
Meanwhile, NHPCBSE 1.34 %, SBI, DLF, PNBBSE 1.60 %, Idea CellularBSE -1.22 %, ONGCBSE -2.25 %, Ashok LeylandBSE 0.59 %, Vedanta, PowerGrid, Bank of BarodaBSE -0.03 % and HindalcoBSE -2.77 % were the most traded securities in terms of volume on NSE so far.
